Bears beat Falcons as Caleb Williams returns from injury and Kyler Gordon records three sacks

Caleb Williams returned from injury and Kyler Gordon recorded three sacks as the Chicago Bears beat the Atlanta Falcons, handing Ben Johnson's team a badly needed victory.

Gordon, who was also playing his way back into the lineup, delivered one of the most productive games of his career. Speaking after the game, Gordon said the outing was "Everything I wanted."

Williams did not take long to find his rhythm either. The Bears quarterback led Chicago down the field on the opening drive and finished the possession with a touchdown, an immediate sign that the time missed had not disrupted his timing.

The win arrived at a point when the Bears needed a response. Johnson's game management and play calling were singled out after the final whistle, with the coach described as being in his element during a contest that carried the feel of a crossroads for the season.

For Chicago, the result provided more than just a win in the standings. It offered evidence that two important defensive and offensive pieces could return to the field and immediately raise the level of play around them.

The Bears will take that momentum into their next fixture, knowing that performances like Gordon's three sack effort and Williams' fast start give Johnson more to work with in the weeks ahead.
