About Us

ChiFeed is a local news site dedicated to the people and neighborhoods of Chicago, IL. We cover the stories that shape daily life here — from city hall and public safety to local business, schools, transportation, weather, and the events that bring neighbors together.

Our Mission

We believe everyone deserves fast, accurate, and accessible local news. Our goal is to help readers understand what is happening around them, why it matters, and what comes next — in clear, straightforward language, free to read.

How We Report

Our stories are built on information from primary sources: police and fire departments, government agencies, court records, public officials, and statements from the organizations involved. We attribute facts to the people and agencies that stated them, so readers can see where information comes from. We use technology to help us monitor developing news and prepare stories quickly, and we hold every story to the same standards of accuracy and fairness.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it. If you spot an error in one of our stories, please let us know through our Contact page and we'll review it promptly.

Part of the Good Neighbor Network
