White Sox ALDS Tickets at Rate Field Hit Record $250 Resale Prices Against Cleveland

Tickets for the Chicago White Sox’s first home playoff series in 21 years have climbed to record prices, as fans prepare to pack Rate Field for the American League Division Series against Cleveland. According to resale marketplace TickPick, Wednesday’s Game 3 at Rate Field is the most expensive divisional round game in baseball and the most expensive White Sox game on record based on get-in price.
The White Sox defeated the Houston Astros in the American League Wild Card Series, ending a long wait for a home postseason game after a series victory. The team announced that tickets for Wednesday’s game at the Rate are sold out through the team. Resale listings are moving at around $250 or more for entry-level seats.
TickPick said the average purchase price for Game 3 is $214. That is 365 percent higher than the $46 average for White Sox home games during the regular season.
Fans looking to see the Sox in person could find lower prices on the road. According to TickPick, the combined get-in price for Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland is $254. The combined get-in price for Games 3 and 4 in Chicago is $389.
The team is asking fans to dress in all black for the home playoff games, bringing back the “blackout” atmosphere associated with past White Sox postseason runs.
The Sox’s turnaround has become one of the biggest surprises in baseball this season. Their clubhouse personality has drawn national attention, including a pregame dugout dance led by injured pitcher Mike Vasil that went viral during the Wild Card series.
The White Sox open the divisional round with Games 1 and 2 in Cleveland before returning to Chicago for Game 3 on Wednesday at Rate Field. If needed, Game 4 would also be played at the Rate.
