According to a village spokesperson, the victim — identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Dylan Perkin, 26, of Glenwood — became involved in an altercation with another individual in the facility's parking lot. Gunfire erupted during the confrontation, and the suspect fled the scene.

Perkin was transported following the shooting but succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
